• Java Developer - 190014UL,Preferred Qualifications,Java SE Sustaining Engineer group at Oracle - where one would work on one of the leading programming environment. In this role you will be responsible for code/patch integration for JDK update releases & maintenance of existing tooling libraries, implement automated tooling for faster releases and work on debugging & resolution of critical customer production issues in Java SE Core Libraries components (XML, Networking, IO/NIO, Collections...),Detailed Description:,As part of the role your responsibility includes:,- development fix integration into code repository - weekly for update releases,- develop/maintain automation of existing integration process,- solve customer/community reported production issues in JDK Core-Libraries area,- improvements to existing in-house diagnostic tools & release related tools,We are looking for candidates with a technical background with the following skills
• - Minimum BS/BA in Computer Science or equivalent, plus 2-5 years of relevant work experience,- Sound OS (Unix, Linux, windows) system administration skills
• - Debugging experience - ability to diagnose issues through the analysis of core dumps, logs etc
• - Strong scripting skills,- Working knowledge with Mercurial,GIT,- Problem solving skills & ability to analyze build related issues,- Positive work attitude and work ethics
• - Good written and verbal communication skills
• - Working knowledge with Core Java,- Ability to work with distributed teams & adhere to group processes,Desirable skills,- Experience administering Hudson/Jenkins to manage builds & slave machine,Detailed Description and Job Requirements,Design, develop, troubleshoot and debug software programs for databases, applications, tools, networks etc
• As a member of the software engineering division, you will assist in defining and developing software for tasks associated with the developing, debugging or designing of software applications or operating systems. Provide technical leadership to other software developers. Specify, design and implement modest changes to existing software architecture to meet changing needs
• Duties and tasks are varied and complex needing independent judgment. Fully competent in own area of expertise. May have project lead role and or supervise lower level personnel. BS or MS degree or equivalent experience relevant to functional area. 4 years of software engineering or related experience
