• 1.1 DesignationSoftware Architect / Sr. Software Architect1.2 RoleResponsible for -Lead product development combining customers needs organizations business objective and application of latest or appropriate technology cost effectivelySoftware Product Requirements development in consultation with PLM Pre-sales and CustomersSoftware architecture development with focus on portability modularity virtualization cloud adaptationGuiding team to create software design including cost-benefit analysis across multiple design optionsGuide the team to build high quality software1.3 Reports ToEngineering Manager on project issues and interacts with the Chief Architect for technology related issues1.4 Preferred Industry Experience13-16 years for Architect role / 15-20 years for Sr Architect roleHands-on product development experience in telecommunications products (wireline or wireless).2 years of development experience in Networking (Switching SDN)3 years of development experience in Cloud architecture Virtualization and Orchestration5 years or development experience in any of these Telecom domain (LTE/UMTS PON/xGPON/FTTH Cable/DOCSIS)Well versed with Agile/Scrum software development life cycles and processes1.5 Responsibilities and Key Result AreasAn Architect / Sr Architect is primarily responsible for the following:Networking (1 or more are mandatory)o Hands on experience in networking Switching DPDK Network Switches SDNo Knowledge on ONIE Open Network Linux (ONL) ONOS Open switch Specification is highly desirableo Knowledge of Cumulus Linux for switches (OS installation licensing and port configuration) and CoreOS for servers is desirableCloud / Virtualization / Data Centre (2 or more are mandatory)o Has in depth of knowledge of the Open Source components Open Stack; focused on cloud managemento Good knowledge on Open Compute Server architectureo Hardware knowledge on Servers [include compute and storage servers]o Good knowledge and experience on Platform hardware and firmwareo Knowledge of operating systems and experience in Linux operating system and packages like DHCP NFS PXE-Booto Hands on experience dealing with Linux set-up configuration bootloader/Firmware Linux BSP and SDKo Working experience in the data-center infrastructure set-up configuration validation and deployment is highly desirableo Familiarity with High Availability (HA) & Scalability
