Learning & Development Manager Req #: 190053906Location: Bangalore East KA INJob Category: Human ResourcesLearning & Development ManagerThe RoleThe Learning & Development Manager leads a team of Learning Development Specialists who identify recommend and create solutions that help the LOB meet business goals. Oversees development and implementation of learning strategies to reimagine existing and new training programs and supports complex training projects that impact large business areas.ResponsibilitiesManages a team of Learning & Development Specialists (LDS) who design and create effective training solutions that impact business resultsOversees development and implementation of the learning strategy which may include project management learning solution development measurement and evaluation strategy development and other key aspectsIdentifies innovative cost-effective impactful solutions that address all requirements improve learner outcomes and deliver measurable results to the businessCommunicates clearly and in a compelling way with all project stakeholders and clientsEmploys design thinking digital design and agile development processesDevelops and deepens knowledge of training technology and innovation and leads others to embrace new solutionsAdvocates for change including new approaches and processes and challenges the status quo with the line of business and within the learning organization with an eye on efficiencies and controlsProvides constructive feedback and guidance to direct reports on all aspects of training projects including analysis design development implementation evaluation usability opportunity for LDS to develop the solution using authoring software etc.Assigns projects based on capacity and capability to get the work doneReviews project documentation (performance agreement training outline training storyboard etc.) for completeness identifies opportunities for efficiencies and digital innovationReviews work for use of digital design principles appropriate use of adult learning principles effectiveness at addressing the uncovered need/gap opportunity to reduce future maintenance needs etc.Monitors and ensures projects stay on track and are delivered with focus on speed to marketPartners with eLearning and Delivery to improve and assess the effectiveness of training contentEnsures that all training materials are properly reviewed and approved by Compliance SMEs etc.Ensures all output meets internal team standards (quality layout templates etc.)Displays customer obsession by building strong relationships with the business assists the L&D Director with overall LOB relationship managementDevelops and maintains a solid knowledge of LOB job roles environment goals culture key players policies/ procedures etc.Ensures the appropriate measurement and evaluation strategy is designed and executed to measure the effectiveness of projectsEnsures direct reports collaborate with training peers to identify efficiencies opportunities to leverage content design approach best practices etc.Ensures that LDSs embrace new training technologies and approaches with emphasis on digital first design that leads to learning solutions that are effective but also efficient (for the learner to consume for Learning Solutions to maintain for Operations to administer)Maintains strong knowledge of training industry trends including innovation digital learning and new delivery modalitiesMay lead all aspects of a project from Analysis to Evaluation on an as needed basisMay manage the inventory of learning resources (online classroom job aids etc.)QualificationsBachelors degree in HR organizational development learning and development instructional design or similar degree (preferred)3-5 years experience in building organizational and employee capability3-5 years experience identifying root cause performance gaps recommending non-training solutions3-5 years managing teams successfully3-5 years experience in design developing and implementing instructional design solutionsStrong consulting negotiation and influence skillsStrong organizational and time management skillsStrong self-awareness and sense of accountabilityProven accomplishment in building relationships with customers and internal clientsProven ability to lead teams to meet objectivesDemonstrated ability to successfully give and receive feedback at all levels of the organizationStrong analytical and questioning skillsAble to synthesize and distill large amounts of information into key messagesFinancial services industry experience (preferred)Experience with learning accessibility ADA WCAG (preferred)
