• Data Engineer *Job Description Job Purpose: The Data engineer is responsible for initiating development & delivery of analytic solutions in an agile fashion to the business in order to provide insights & improvement to business processes. The Data engineer/scientists uses data and their analytical ability to find and interpret rich data sources; manage large amounts of data; merge data sources; ensure consistency of datasets; create visualizations to aid in understanding data; build mathematical models using the data; and present and communicate the data insights/findings and produce and present results with dashboards. Key Accountabilities and Responsibilities Accountabilities Accountable for preparing and Identifying Requirements for an I&D (Analytics) Service Accountable for preparing a Work Scope for an I&D (Analytics) Service Accountable for executing the (Analytics) Work Scope Accountable for Final Review of the (Analytics) Service/Work Accountable for the Closeout Quality Review and Customer Satisfaction Survey Responsibilities Design and implement new big data solutions which support high volume and velocity data supports future growth use latest big data technologies/techniques is cloud supported and in-line with Shells strategies. Challenge and advise - the best Data Engineers are partners and consultants not just executors of process. Design and implement modern data pipelines to extract clean and process data in batch and real-time from different data sources. Use the latest development testing and deployment techniques to quickly deploy new releases to e.g. deploy new data pipelines and add data sources. Help establish best practices around data governance data security- and privacy (GDPR). Work together with the solution- and data architect to the define the target data strategy. Requirements The Data engineer analyzes the data in a warehouse to mine for important facts and statistics. Develops processes and design reports to boost the business intelligence within the organization and is good at effectively processing large amounts of data into meaningful information. Collects past and present data to create fit for purpose MI reports. Has in-depth knowledge on the BI tools available within the organization. The Data Engineer has data scientist skills wherein he is responsible for applying analytics to business problems. Works with Business Analysts and business SME/users to assess opportunities review expected outputs. Collects prepares builds reports. The Data Engineer ensures that the report design is visual attractive & easy to use navigate from taken special notice in design for those reports viewed though a mobile device. Can include developing analytical algorithms statistical models and analytical tools for the Enterprise. Employs complex techniques (such as trend analysis classification algorithms optimization and simulation) and has advanced technical skills (including coding). o Minimum 4 years of experience with BI tools such as Tibco Spotfire advanced Excel functionality Power BI Tableau Alteryx or QlikView/Text analytic experience (specific tool is not required). Experience with extracting and combining different data sources different databases or data warehouses. Not just end user experience but for example being able to join and transform data understand data models and being able to create calculated columns and custom expressions. Strongly prefer Data scientist experience. o Minimum 5 years of experience as Data scientist/Analyst working with Advanced analytics tools. o Minimum 2 years of business Experience with specific business domain. o Minimum 5 years of Information Management or Technology experience. Preferred Analytics Technology Stack - Alteryx/Data Integration MATLAB Visualization - Power BI/Spotfire Programming Language - Python/R Analytic Cloud Integration -Azure Stack Azure Data factory Azure Data lakes Azure SQL Data warehouse. MAANA - Search Engine Cognitive/Natural Language Processing Tools - Watson etc o Demonstrated ability to understand the users business and process issues and implement solutions o Demonstrated ability to do user design and analysis. o Demonstrated customer facing skills is able to understand business issues quickly and either translate these into solutions or provide detailed instructions for consulting staff o Consulting experience desirable o Knowledge and experience in oil and gas desirable Please refer to the Job description above
