The successful applicant will: Lead the Data Science charter for the Marketing Analytics Team Understand the enterprise marketing goals and be a key player in bringing streams of data science and a strong marketing expertise together to solve key problems in this area Lead an all-star team of Data scientists and collaborate closely with our Home Office teams Work with stakeholders globally to identify the business requirements and the expected outcomes Be on the cutting edge of analytics experimentation and modeling leveraging our data sources to propose new ideas and drive key strategic decisions through both offline and online efforts Make strategic recommendations on data collection integration and retention requirements incorporating business requirements and knowledge of best practices Execute & lead an optimal portfolio of projects across a broad array of subjects like Predictive Modeling Machine Learning Artificial Intelligence and Cognitive Computing Not only deliver projects but be able to demonstrate cost or revenue benefit to stake holders Job Family Summary Data Science incorporates techniques across many disciplines including mathematics/statistics computer programming data engineering and ETL software development and high performance computing with traditional business expertise with the goal of extracting meaning from data to optimize future business decisions. Individuals in this field should be an expert/fluent in several of these disciplines and sufficiently proficient in others to effectively design build and deliver end to end predictive analytics products to optimize future decisions. Individual demonstrates sufficient analytic agility to quickly develop new skills across these disciplines as those disciplines evolve. The Data Scientist family is accountable for using data to make decisions which includes building predictive models and developing new machine learning techniques that enable Allstate to make better decisions to achieve Allstates goals. Key Responsiblities Work with the teams to provide direction explain the business aspect of the problem and provide thought leadership on solving complex business problems Translates overall marketing vision & strategies into analytical roadmaps and projects Leads multiple complex analytical projects with the team of analysts and leads Work cross-functionally to identify and address tooling and infrastructure challenges Ensures projects are managed according to overall plan managing scope mitigating risks and solving for project risks Effectively understands the business problems requirements and context in communicating findings to ensure the solutions are well understood and incorporated into business processes Develops and builds a learning mindset in the team and builds alignment around machine learning/predictive modeling optimization strategies Creates forums/platforms for the team to be apprised of emerging business mathematical & technological advancements Executes project delivery for analytics projects using machine learning/predictive modeling methodologies Lead the efforts in the usage of optimization techniques aligned to business problems with the analytics teams and other business partners fostering relationships and engaging resources across departments Leads efforts for continuous improvements with data tools methodology and processes Advances the research in the areas of machine learning/predictive modeling within the department and applies analytical solutions thus built to improve on project delivery Serves as subject matter expert and consultant on model/product related issues inside and outside Marketing Develops key competencies and ensures strategies are in place for the career development and individual development planning for the Marketing Analytics team at Allstate India Leads analysts and consultants who are responsible for work that needs to be performed and/or their direct reports Directs supports and executes talent management developing bench strength for future roles and initiatives/programs Identifies skill gaps and devises training plans with managers to develop new talent in focus area Coaches mentors and influences others to accomplish marketing analytics goals Actively seeks to connect resources across departments to share expertise educating teams on initiatives strategy and models Knowledge/ Skills/ Abilities/ Experience Advance level qualification in a quantitative field such as Business Statistics Mathematics Finance or Economics with a bachelors degree in a quantitative field Requires 9 or more years of relevant quantitative and qualitative research and analytics experience Experience in having managed and grown high-performing teams across geographies operating effectively and seamlessly in the global delivery model Ability to understand the business outcomes/imperatives and be able to manifest the understanding in the solution approach Ability to break down & approach business problems in a structured manner and help the team nurture their problem solving capabilities Proven communication and influence skills taking varying audiences into consideration Ability to lead teams in the development of machine learning/predictive modeling and optimization Ability to provide written and oral interpretation of highly specialized terms and data and ability to present this data to others with different levels of expertise Ability to concentrate on a wide range of loosely defined complex situations which require application of creativity and originality where guidance and counsel may be unavailable Experience Telematics Cognitive Computing Deep Learning NLP Image Analytics will be strongly preferred Experience in solving problems across function like Claims Pricing Customer Analytics or Life P&C LoBs will be preferred Prior experience in the fields of predictive analytics and statistics including experimental design for optimization Proficient in open data science tool kits like R Python and understanding of distributed computing tools
